Historic Buderim Tramway Guided Walk
Apr 27, 2024, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Part of the Australian Heritage Festival 2024
The Guided Walk is an opportunity for visitors to explore a part of the historical Buderim to Palmwoods tramway track, which was operational from 1915 to 1935. During the tour, knowledgeable guides will provide a fascinating commentary on the track's construction history, which took place between 1912 and 1914, and the Buderim community's efforts to have it built.
Visitors will also have the chance to see first-hand the impressive engineering of the track construction, view several sleepers that are still in place, and observe some rare native moss growing beside the track. Finally, the guides will meet those interested at the site in central Buderim of the proposed building to house the cosmetically restored Krauss locomotive and share the plans for the building.
Note: Bring water, and a hat, and wear good walking shoes.
There are no toilets onsite.
